Also called the mermaid of the Mediterranean Sea, it was established in the 332 BC by Alexander the Great and carries his name till today. Originally designed by Denokrates, the city declined and rose several times, and now is the second largest city of Egypt. Present day Alexandria, apart from its historical heritage, which represents itself in its many archaeological remains, is endowed with a gamut of other breathtaking sites, proving to be an ideal destination for any visitor.
